A Little Raw Company presents Tree House – A Sanctuary in the Sky

A treehouse is more than just an elevated hideaway; it is an extension of nature itself, a delicate balance between grounded roots and expansive dreams. Tree House – A Sanctuary in the Sky embodies the harmony and tension between shelter and exposure, solitude and kinship, childhood and maturity. Each performer brings their own perspective, layering the performance with themes of discovery, retreat, and belonging.

Movements unfold like branches reaching towards the sky, sometimes intertwining in support, at other times swaying independently yet rooted in the same foundation. The treehouse serves as a refuge, a space of pretend, a point of connection, and a symbol of mythology. It represents both security and the unknown, reflecting the way we build and rebuild our lives amidst the branches of time.

Through a delicate interplay of gestures, weight-sharing, and spatial exploration, Tree House – A Sanctuary in the Sky invites audiences to reflect on the universality of seeking shelter— be it in physical space, relationships, or within ourselves. The dancers navigate the ever-shifting landscape of balance, growth, and uncertainty, mirroring the way we build and rebuild our lives amidst the branches of time.

This performance is a celebration of resilience, adaptability, and the human spirit – a reminder that even in the face of instability, we can always find refuge in each other, in nature, and in the boundless possibilities of imagination.
